I can't believe I have yet to share this little bit huge, amazing news with you! Well, most of you reading this already know, but I haven't blogged about it yet & so here we are! I'M GOING BACK TO HAITI! I can. not. even. begin to describe how happy this makes me! I always knew I would go back, I just had no clue I would actually get the opportunity to go back so soon! We will be leaving December 28th and returning January 4th - 2011 I might add! What's that mean folks? I get to cross off another task from my 101 in 1001 list! I will be spending NYE in another country - Prosper, Haiti with the most happy people I've ever been around! I don't know about you, but that sounds awesome to me!
Every year I get so excited for NYE and I always want it to be special or different. The truth is, although I always have fun, its normally not any different than any other night out on the town! I'm excited to be doing something meaningful while bringing in a new year. I won't have to worry about dressing up or where I'm going to go for the night. I think this will be a perfect start to 2011 and will get me on the right track for the new year!
I'm so excited to see all the kiddos! I've missed them so much! I'm terrified that a child, or anyone really, that I met while I was there will have passed away. It's hard to survive there and 50% of the children die before the age of 5. With all the news about Cholera and the tropical storm it's hard not to worry! I just don't think I'll never forgive myself if something happened to one of them in the short time I was gone! I know in reality there is nothing I could have done, but I will just feel guilty for have leaving them! Ahh, I can't think about that right now - no crying at work! Just please say lots of prayers for my friends in Prosper!
