OUR WEDDING | BRIDAL BREAKFAST & GETTING READY

For our wedding weekend we stayed in large cabins which made it easy logistically and it was so fun to be all together. Jeremy and his groomsmen had a cabin as did me and my bridesmaids, and then there was a third cabin for friends. We booked Creekbend Lodge, Creekside Getaway, and Waters Edge Retreat. These cabins were all in a row and in a great location - in-between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and they were at the bottom of the mountain so it didn't take too long to go to and from.

BRIDAL BREAKFAST

I knew that I wanted to have a special bridesmaids breakfast the morning of the wedding and I knew just who to ask to help me with it - my Aunt Christie. Growing up every time my sisters and I would stay the night at her house we'd beg for Aunt Christie pancakes. She is very creative so of course she didn't stop at pancakes. She handmade place mats and napkins that would coordinate with the robes my mama made for us to wear. I hand lettered everyone's name and had them laser cut for place cards.

My sister had all of my bridesmaids make a scrapbook page for me and they gave me the scrapbook during breakfast. Needless to say there were tears and lots of laughs. I've been blessed with some wonderful friendships through the years and I was so thankful to have them all there with me.

GETTING READY

I had so much fun getting ready with all my best friends. My friend Haley owns an on location hair and makeup company (Simply Makeup) and she did hair and makeup. My friend Cory works at her family's salon, Images, and they did hair as well. Everyone looked so beautiful and I'm so thankful they shared their talent for our wedding day.

Before or wedding, Jeremy and I had discussed that on all of our trips and adventures we would buy little trinket souvenirs and display them in the antique letterpress drawer we have hanging on our wall. We said that our first trinket should be from our wedding weekend in Gatlinburg but with the hustle and bustle of everything I had forgotten until I opened my gift from Jeremy and he had included our first trinket, a Smoky Mountain bell.

I didn't end up wearing this necklace for the ceremony (I wore one of my Grandma Winnie's pearl necklaces) but Jeremy bought it for me from Stella & Dot and I love it so much!

I asked my friend Casey to pray for us, our day, and Jeremy and I's marriage before we left the cabin to go take pictures. These are some of my favorite photos from the day and I'm so thankful for this special moment.

The guys had a lot more free time since they didn't have to mess with hair and makeup so they played games in the parking lot and then smashed each other's hands with pool balls while they waited for pictures.😂

I'll be sharing our first look and bridal party photos next. You can see more from our wedding here.
