Summer Reading | Eat, Pray, Love

I don't know about you guys but summetime is when I do most of my reading. Although this summer I've been pretty slow at it. I'm currently Reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's different than what I expected, but I'm still enjoying it! I loved the first part of the book as she's living in Italy because I took a few courses in Italian and I love the language and it was fun when she used some Italian words & I knew what she was saying before she told us! I can't wait for the movie to come out with Julia Roberts! I actually think I may like the movie better (which never happens). Only because I feel like it will be more visual for me. I don't know, maybe I shouldn't speak so soon! I'll let you know after I have finished the book & seen the movie! Either way, I recommend the book for your summer reading! :)

#4 Take out the trash, set a mousetrap, do your taxes, build a bookcase.

#12 Revel in being able to watch all the reality TV you want.

#36 Host a girls-only night. Some coupled-up women forget how much we need each other.

I could have honestly listed just about every item on the list but I'll let you guys check it out for yourself! Being single is fun & empowering and I think too often women are searching for a man to make them feel complete! Not necessary, let me assure you! :)

Long Time No Blog

I don't know about you but nothing says summer
to me like a big field of corn in the sunshine! haha

Well, all I can say is that this summer has been amazing & I haven't really spent much time on my computer. Shocking, I know! It just really isn't like me at all! Believe me, I always think of lots of topics to blog about (A list of what all single girls should do, Gwyneth Paltrow going country, etc.) & I always plan on making the time to do it and then... I go swimming or to the movies or lots of other fun things!

I am house/dog sitting this week for a family friend! It's been so nice having a place to myself! It has been hot, hot, hot that is for sure! Tomorrow I am going to Kings Island with my friend Lindsay! Should be a good time, haven't been in years! Anyway, just wanted to stop in & say hello to alllll my readers! ;) haha

Graduated, Jobless, & Loving It

I am officially a graduate from The Ohio State University. Ahhhhh! I can not tell you how happy/excited/proud that makes me! It's been a long, long road but it is finally over! June 13th was the day of my graduation and luckily it cooled down a little, but still not enough to keep me from sweating under that cap & gown! I was a mess! My parents, grandparents, sister, & best friend were all there & it meant so much to me that they wanted to share the day with me!

The day after graduation my family & I headed for Destin, FL! I had never been there and it was absolutely beautiful! White sand, and crystal clear blue water! Luckily the oil from BP's major fail hadn't reached where we were staying and we had a wonderful week. It's so sad to think of all the animals and businesses that have to suffer because of a problem BP could have taken care of a long time ago.

I've been home about two weeks and I am enjoying summer oh so much! It's been beautiful out (especially this week!) & it's been so nice to be able to come and go as I please and not have to worry about getting a paper/project in by a certain deadline! I hate to say it but I'm enjoying being jobless a little too much! I need to get on the ball and start applying everywhere I can but the thought of having to work every day for the rest of my life might be hindering me! I've hardly touched my computer, I practically had to force myself to blog just so I'm not too far behind! Crazy, I know!

Well, I'm going to go continue my love affair with summer and sit on the porch & read {Eat, Pray, Love}. Followed by some night fishing at the Farmersville pond tonight. Love it.
