Give Thanks | Day One

Well hello, November. So we meet again. It's hard to believe there are only 2 months left in 2011! Where does the time go? I know, I know. I say that every time a new month rolls in! :) Last year, in the month of November, I posted pretty randomly about things I was thankful for. You can view some of those here. This year, I again want to acknowledge what I'm thankful for but with a little bit more structure! Each day I will post a list of things I am thankful for. Today, because it is the first day I will post one thing I am thankful for. Tomorrow, on the second of November, I will post two things I am thankful for. See where I'm going with this? This year has been filled with a lot of "why me's" or "why not me's" and it's pretty sad considering last year I went to Haiti two times (1, 2) and saw hundreds of people with far less than I and yet I still focus on all of the things I do not have or everything I have yet to accomplish. So, in the spirit of this Thanksgiving month, I want to give thanks each and every day of it. As the month goes on it will get pretty tricky since, for example, on November 24th I have to come up with 24 different things I am thankful for and I can't repeat. Once it's all said and done I will have listed 465 different things that I am thankful for! Wow. I'm nervous just thinking about it!

Today, I am thankful for my family! Those God has given to me from birth and those that I have been lucky to have known through the years. I am so blessed to have such a large family who love and support me and I am thankful each and every minute of every day for them - even if I don't always say it, much less show it. So thank you JESUS for the amazing people you have placed into my life! :)
