44 days to go!

April 29, 2010
I can't believe the countdown is finally under 50! I will be graduating in less than 50 days! Eeek! That makes me so unbelievably happy! The day after I graduate my family and I leave for Destin, Florida, so only 45 days until I'll be laying on the beach! Yippee! There sure are some great things to look forward to! :) Welp that's all for now, just thought I'd share the countdown 'cause I'm super excited!

DIY | Framed Jewelry Holder

April 28, 2010

I have seen these types of jewelry holders on a few different blogs now & thought I would give it a try myself! Deciding what to do with your jewelry can be a hassle and I knew I wanted to keep my things hanging (right now I am using an accordion style hat hanger). This particular one I have in the photo was just a trial run (although it turned out great!) I left my frame at my parents house and so I just picked this one up at Walmart.

1. Decorative frame
2. Radiator grill from Lowes
3. Spray paint of your choice
4. Push pins (to hold the grill in place)
5. Hooks

It was a really simple and fun project! I can't wait to do mine! I want to make myself a baby blue one! Of course I'll post pictures when it's completed! Welp, hope you enjoyed! Happy Hump Day!

PS This one is for sale {$30} if anyone is interested! :)

Just entered a little contest over at Somewhat Simple! She's going to choose her favorite "creation" out of the submissions! Could be a makeover, a project, artwork, a great recipe, etc! I submitted this Jewelry Holder! I'm still so proud of it! :)

Congrats Haley and Brock!

April 27, 2010
I got some very exciting news today! My good friends Haley & Brock are expecting their first baby! I couldn't be more happy for them! They are going to make great parents! I actually screamed when I got the text on my phone, "Hi auntie. I can't wait to meet you. I'm 12 weeks and 3 days old". It was awesome! Haley was a little scared during her first trimester, as a lot of moms are, and so she waited to tell people other than their parents! They get to find out the sex in 4 weeks! Yay! Welp, that's all from me today! Bye!

Road Trip? Ok!

April 22, 2010

My sister and Linley were planning a trip to Myrtle Beach. About 2 days before they were leaving Cork asked if I wanted to go. Sure, my classes are still going on, but I mean common - its the beach for crying out loud! Of course I went! & I'm so glad I did! It was so much fun & just a nice, relaxing getaway! Now its back to the books & reality! 50 days 'til graduation! Wahooo!

Happy Birthday Jamie Nicole 0:)

April 15, 2010

Hard to believe she would have been 22 today!
Love & miss you Jamie, more than words can say!

Bye Bye Mustang Sally

{Me & my beautiful car before the Preble County Fair 2006}

I think I might be able to post about my car without crying.. maybe. haha I sold my car on Monday and I am so sad. I got this car in October of 2005 so I've had it about 4 1/2 years. I've put a lot of my own money into this car and its so beautiful. Someone bought it for their 15 1/2 year old daughter who doesn't even have her temps yet. That made it a bit more painful I have to admit. But she seemed to really love the car too so I hope she takes good care of it! Right now I'm driving my mom's grad prix (which I hate). I can't wait until I find a car that I can afford and really enjoy! Ahh, someday! :)

According to Wikipedia, the word soulmate is: a person with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, love, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, and/or compatibility. What a nice thought it is to think there is that one person who is meant for you. To believe that fate has a hand in everything, and no matter what, what's meant to be, will be. I used to think I fell into this category of people, and although I have not totally neglected this idea, I have however become quite skeptical. Out of the millions and billions of people on this planet, how on Earth could there only be one person for me. I'm sure there are plenty of men I would be compatible or content with, but I'm not someone who is looking for just ordinary.

I guess what I should say is that I do believe God has that one special person created just for me, but it seems almost impossible that I'll find him. How many people out there have really found their "soulmate"? Decisions we make every day can change the outcome of the rest of our lives. What if I make a choice that doesn't lead me to this person, or what if he does. On an even worse note, what if the person God has for you thinks they are in love with someone else before he meets you? Then what? It just seems like an awful lot has to go right for two people to find each other, and us humans are pretty good at screwing things up and making the wrong decisions.

How can we be sure that no matter what we'll end up with our soulmate? I guess the real question isn't whether or not I believe in soulmates, but whether or not I believe in fate? If fate exists, then no matter what choices I make or what path I take in life "the one" will at some point cross mine.

It's kind of scary to think about. I don't believe anyone really wants to end up alone. I know I don't. I guess what it really comes down to is I just have to have faith, and continue to believe in love and the idea of fate, and hope that one day I will meet the man God has prepared for me.

happy birthday anna christine!

April 7, 2010
Today is my wonderful friend Anna's birthday! Anna is my roommate, and sometimes we might want to slap each other but in the end I'm happy she's in my life & I cherish the times we've had together!

Some reasons why I love Anna:
1. She is always up for a good time.
2. Believe it or not, her sarcastic attitude.
3. Our many Kohl's/Target shopping sprees.
4. She still loves me even though she knows me.
5. Always there for me when I need her.

I love you and hope you have a wonderful day Anna!

DIY | Chair Makeover

April 6, 2010
I have been wanting to reupholster a couch for some time now. I've never done so, so I'm not sure why I've got this urge to do it so badly! I'm not even sure if I would be able to figure it out! Last week I saw an old dirty chair by the dumpster & I thought it would be a great way for me to practice. Little did I know, it would turn out beautifully! I love it & I'm so proud of myself! I think the next time I find a cheap couch on Craig's List that I like I'm going to buy it & give it a face lift! Now, to keep or sell the chair? That is the question! :)

{Please excuse the background of the photos! When I originally took the photo I did not want to take that dirty thing in my house so I took the photo on my back porch! When I finished, I wanted the backgrounds to be the same... & there ya have it.}

Edit - May 13, 2010
Just entered a little contest over at Somewhat Simple! She's going to choose her favorite "creation" out of the submissions! Could be a makeover, a project, artwork, a great recipe, etc! I submitted this Chair Makeover! I'm still so proud of it! :) This is the first contest I've entered in the blogging world so, let's hope I have beginners luck!
